Axles?

Hi guys & gals!

I've got a 1991 Harley FXRS, which I'm thinking of triking. It's my first Harley trike, although I've done a number of bike and reliant-engined jobbies over the years, as well as a Daimler and Jag trikes.

Question is, what's the best back axle to use on a Harley, to get decent gearing?

Enquiring minds need to know!

Cheers!

I have a Lehman kit and it is the same as the original. I think it could have been a little lower geared. Sixth gear is pretty much useless except on the flats.

Hello, Glennhog: :)
If you just want a 'Hot Rod' trike with no fiberglass body look into the Frankenstein Trike axle. I just put one of their custom axles on a Sportster for a lady rider and she is very happy :) with the trike and the handling. The kits come complete with axle, fenders, wheels & tires. their complete kits are priced very reasonable and can get you on a trike for under $10,000 :D.
Thank you,
Trike Lady

i firmly agree with trikelady. after my accident, i spent about 4 months researching trikes. i knew i didn't want all the fiberglass stuff and decided that the frankenstein rear end was the best choice for me. there are many more out there, including: mystery, exile and santiago. do your homework, because none of them are identical, and make the choice that is best for you.

check out my gallery for more picks of my rear end......i mean axle...:D

good luck!
