Aspencade Problem

I have a 87 Honda Aspencade Trike. Just had new stator and voltage reg. installed. Has a problem when it's been driven for a while, (and heats up) when you get back on it before it cools down it turns over real slow as if the battery is week. It has a new battery. Had volts checked and checked in around 13. Can the slow turn over be the starter heating up and not turning over fast enough? I can hook up my jump box to the battery and it will start right up. I've been checking and so far I can not find where there may be a constant draw on the battery and bring it down.

once the engine is hot is the starter pulling more power than it does when cold?If it does then the starter needs work.If not then you have another problem, like do you smell gas after shut down? Then it could be a fuel flooding problem.Just a few ideas.
