Arm rest dilemma

OK...here's the scoop. We have a 2000 Harley Ultra Classic with a 2003 Motor Trike kit on it. Currently it has the Zeppelin air seats on it. I ordered the Kuryakyn arm rests (with cup holder) and was going to have the dealer do the install while they were doing a few other things to the trike. I got a phone call yesterday and they told me there was no way they could mount the arm rests to the trike, due to the fender/trunk set up and lack of space for mounting them.

Now...we are getting the trike tomorrow morning so I don't know EXACTLY what they were referring to but will find out. My question is this....what arm rests are other Harley/Motor Trike riders using or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
moonstar

I don't have the answer but I do know what they are saying and it’s not only on the MT. My CSC and several others have the same situation.

When they designed the trike, the body is formed up close to the tour pack in order to keep dirt and water from spraying through. That's adds a more complete flowing look to the trike. Unfortunately it also covers the normally exposed framework that supports the tour pak and that is where the arm rest would bolt on.

I can't even put the passenger grab handles on the CSC.

I considered adding a second cup holder to the bars, but that means either continually passing the cup back or having the wife reaching over my shoulder, neither of which I find acceptable.

Good luck and if you come up with a solution short of cutting into the body, please share it with us.
