Arkansas disabiled guy explained

Thank you for the replys but things aren't all that bad. I have been riding with my shoulder problem for 25 years and still ride my Yamaha Venture,
I am just asking which trike kits are the smoothest and handle the best.
I understand that there are different rear frame designs and wonder which would work best for me ?

Thanks for any help. Cb

Chuck, there are so many variables to possible answers.... The key is to go ride as many as you can get a leg over and choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Motor Trike is the shortest and narrowest so it's a bit more responsive in corners and twisties. Roadsmith and Hannigan are the longest so they ride a bit smoother. Even those pros are not enough to choose a conversion.

My best advise is again to add the touch and feel experience to your search. Good luck. I hope you find the "Perfect" ride. :xszpv: :xszpv:

You'll probably get a lot of replys and opinions on this one. I have a Road Smith, wheels sit just aft of the pillion, a bit longer than most, gives a comfortable ride. Easy steer with one hand, and with cruise, you can rest the arm that gets tired. Seek out a good installer, that's a must, bring the bars back and up as far as the easy steer install will allow.

Welcome to Trike Talk.
Another factor to consider is $.If you have no limit on $$$ you can be very selective.
Test ride all you can before you buy. Most dealers have demo trikes.

I did a demo ride on a tri-glide and was not happy with it. After the ride found out that it had been wrecked and repaired. So not a fair test. at slow speeds it had the prevailing wobble. on the road it drove fine. Just a lot different than a two wheeler.

had a motor trike kit put on my ultra. still have a little wobble, but not as bad. In town it takes more effort to turn(needs raked) but, on the road its a Cadillac . IRS works great for the bumps. So much less effort to ride the highways than a two wheeler. good for short rides (100 miles or so ) after that I get settled in to road mode and don't want to stop.

I too changed to 3 wheels as I was worried about my passenger's safety on long rides. (heart problems and no A.C.L. in my left knee)

3 wheels takes a little getting use to but I think it was the answer for me. Its a different skill than 2 wheels . All that's left is for you to go ride a few different brands and choose what fits you best. happy huntingThumbUp

Most people know I'm a DFT girl. I think they are the best, lightest, shortest, easiest to install rear ends made. as you may know I wrecked mine and will be able to repair it. I hope you find something you like as that is all that matters. all the conversions have there good things and their bad. it's ultimately up to you to choose. you will probably choose from what is available to you locally.

if you are able and choose to build it yourself you can't go wrong with DFT no matter if you have a GoldWing or Harley.
