We are back with the Eastern Arizona Ride, Coronado Trail, Big Lake - Lunch Social and Salt River Canyon. Dates - Arrive 9/25, Day 1 - Coronado Trail, Day 2 Big Lake - Lunch, Day 3 - Salt River Canyon, Depart - 9/29

I need some input for lunch. Chili or burgers and potato salad.

I will put together some maps for each day of riding. We will be camped in the same place as always.

btw, the Balloon Fiesta is pretty dadgum interesting. Mary and I attended a few years back. It is one of those things you have to experience to appreciate what a crazy way of transportation it is.

Grumpy, I just read this....small world! Did you have your bike up here/there last summer? We would have gotten some riding in. I lived in the area most of my life....swimming lessons at the lake when I was a kid...(slimy green coating on the surface of the water during the latter part of summer...but we had no where else)...now they bus kids to pool in Milbank. Camping at the park, etc.

Bill, I did have my bike up there but only rode an average of once a week (Watertown, Webster, Graceville, etc). Although as camphost I was only required to do 24 hours a week, I averaged 50 because I wanted my campground pristine and appealing. Went to the Wharf and Sodak Shores several times. Taking this summer off due to RV travels but "may" volunteer to camphost @ Hartford for 2026. I know that the Park Manager is looking for a camphost and workcampers for this summer if you know anyone interested.

I won’t be able to make this we load the trailer for points east Unknown destinations
Wife n I have been doing the springerville ride from Mesa 4th July Ride from here to springerville and stay at reeds On home after that
So if anyone is interested lmk

Kurt,
Karen and I are around 50/50 on being able to make it this year.
We've got a rather long trip right before the Arizona Gathering and the key will be getting home from it without mechanical issues.....
It'd be great to ride with you again!!!
Chuck

Memories...... This weekend I did a road trip with over 100 other Ford Mustang owners. We started here in the valley with a police escort to get us on the freeway. Then off to eastern Arizona, south to north on the Coronado (191, Devils Highway) and on to Pinetop where we all had rooms at the large motel we reserved. Passed by THE campsite and gave a respectful nod to the good times and friends shared there. Came home today via Salt River Canyon and had many good thoughts of our rides. Sure gives me the itch to get back on 3 and join y'all. My thoughts...... If anyone is wavering about going on this trip, pull the trigger and do it. Outstanding ride, people, and fun...... Jim

PS: I'm the big ol' fat guy in the red jacket, in the middle of Kevins second picture. Token Honda guy but always felt very welcomed.....

Jim - Great to hear from you. Been a while since we talked, enjoyed our rides in Kerrville and the AZ Gatherings. Always a good time with you, maybe bring the Mustang up for the luncheon?

Take care

Ed - The other fat guy
