Does anyone here have a saltwater aquarium? A while back I met another forum owner who owns a forum about salt water aquariums and captive reefs. We've become friends and he's now one of our Tech Support staffers. His forum is Captive Reefs, and is the go to forum for salt water aquariums. I'm amazed at how much you can do with a salt water aquarium vs the dinky fresh water ones like I've had in the past. For one thing the variety and beauty of the marine life and coral to be had is so much more impressive.

Big time, Long time ago. Started out with Glass tanks, moved on to Plexiglas, then began building my own tanks, 5 Ft skimmers,CO2 ph- controllers, extremely accurate PH control. Designed my own oxygenator, hooked it of to a one specimen tank, a few minutes later the fish died from the bends (excess nitrogen gas) had to detune that one a bit. Made my own research grade water to blend salt with. Made my own VHO lighting as well, as well as halogen. Had many reproducing soft corals, and have been bit and stung by many wet creatures. Pictures of 2 of many tanks I had . A 60 and a 110 gallon, on stands I made. Constructed tanks up to 300 gallons. When came time to move, sold everything, just never started again.

I've had a 9 gal nano for about 3 years. Just starting to set up a 39 gal. Red Sea Max 130. Will start putting livestock next week. Few fish and soft corals.
