Anyone familiar with Branson MO.

I will not visit there as the place was buildt non-union. Shoddy buildings without any real safety figured into them.
They showed the crappy work done on them. I won't spend a dime there. I"ve known people who have been there, but not me.
Just my opinion.

Like some info on area, planning a meet up in September. Thanks.
Branson is like driving in Dallas rush hour traffic. Way too many cages not paying attention, etc. There are shows, entertainment venues, and amusement attractions in the area. If you plan to stay there and just play tourist, it’s okay, but it can be crowded. If you plan to stay but take a day ride to other areas, there are plenty of worthwhile trips. Options include Eureka Springs or Harrison for fewer crowds, but with good access to southern Missouri and northern Arkansas road trips. Google Branson, MO for published info. The same applies to other towns noted, which may prove to be more rider-friendly depending on your plans. I just took a 10-day trip to the area in June. JMHO

Thanks gentlemen. We 3 Army vets are looking for a place to meet. I am coming from Saginaw MI, Mark from Florida and Bob from Colorado, about 900 miles for each of us.

My wife and I went there…once. Have no desire to ever go back as it’s a huge tourist trap with traffic jams, mediocre shows and just ok food. Not my idea of fun, but we didn’t know that beforehand and it was a checkoff on the bucket list.

I’m assuming you all will be on your bikes and looking for places to visit & ride?

As others stated, the Ozarks in Missouri and Arkansas are loaded with tons of scenic rides and neat places to stay. So many that it’s hard to pick and you could easily spend 2 weeks there.

Do a Google search, here’s just a sampling:

If you are going in September, take a gander at the calendar here. Lots of neat things to do:

Something that just caught my eye is a BTW “Trike-In” in Potosi, MO on September 24th & 25th. I didn’t know what BTW was, but it’s Brothers of the Third Wheel. I don’t know anything about them, but it looks like some sort of International Trike motorcycle group.

Look into Eureka Springs AR and the Crescent Hotel. Good central spot for some great day rides plus lots to do in town as well. Crescent has a “biker special” pricing policy, a good restaurant and is one of the oldest haunted hotel around. There’s a HD clothing outlet in town and multiple day rides to S MO and AR..

There are numerous motels along Hwy 62 in Eureka Springs that cater to the biker crowd. Some even have bike washing stations and provide towels to wipe down afterwards. I much more prefer Eureka Springs over Branson. A great place for breakfast is The Filling Station and the food is delicious. Anther recommendation if traveling the Pig Trail is the Oark General store. It is just off Hwy 23 and would take 215 down to it. Great homemade Pies. The Cliff House Inn just south of Jasper on Hwy 7 is a great lunch stop. The lodge at Magazine Mountain also offers a great spot for lunch and really good food. Hwy 7 North of Russelville is a nice motorcycle road to drive up to Harrison. And look up Push Mountain to ride as well.

If riding is what you are after, I think Arkansas might be a better choice. I have only listed just a few highlights but there are many more and Eureka Springs is only about 50 miles SW of Branson.

I used to go down there quite regularly for a Meet and Greet. The spot we usually stayed at was Motel 62 but the last couple stays were less than stellar. It has since changed names to Hotel O Eureka Springs and can't say if it's improved. Last time down there, lodging was at the Country Mountain Inn. Very biker friendly and was a decent place to stay.
