Antenna wire???

I got a cover for my Stallion (thanks Mattel, I love it!) and I wasn't sure about the antenna getting bent over too far or possibly poking through the cover so I took the antenna off. That was my first mistake. It wasn't that bad but the bolt fell in the Stallion body so I had to take the tire off to put it back together. My problem is when I was putting it back together I noticed another wire that looked like it also goes on the antenna bolt but I'm not 100% sure. It is the wire to the right of my fingers in the "Mystery connection" picture (not the one I'm holding). I do have a J&M CB-Intercom system but unable to trace the wires to see if that's where this one goes. Anyone have a clue to this puzzle? Thanks.

Call J&M the first picture is the CB ant wire, it SOULD NOT contact ground. The second looks like a ground wire but the way you hooked it up you are grounding the center of the ANT. which is wrong.

Go to the firewire web site and they have pictures of how to hook this up. J&M uses firewire Ant and Cables. I am Not sure if you system is ground plane or non ground plane.

In the end the coax sheilding needs to go to ground, the center lead and Ant should not. That bolt that came lose it a direct connection to the Ant, so it should not be connected to the ground.

DO NOT trust my rambling cause you could blow up your CB or only be talking to yourself if the ground is all wrong.

J&M know what they are doing.

The big BLACK wire gets the bolt thru it into the bottom of the antenna. The other wire in your hand should go to a seperate place for a gound connection from what I can see in your photo. This may not be 100% correct without really being there to see what you have.
