Another Panhard rod gone bad

Add me to the list of bad panhard rods. I started noticing the noise late last summer. Took it in yesterday to Mason City HD and told them I was pretty sure I had a bad panhard rod. 2 hours later they called to let me know I was right and that the part was on order. 52,145 miles on it when I got to the dealer. They say that they have not come across the problem but also admitted they had not come across another TG with as many miles as me.

Keystone,
One of my rod ends started rattling at 30K. As I do not have any warranty, I just replaced the rod ends on stock bar. Old ends were steel on steel and had rusted.

I started noticing the noise mid summer last year. 48k? I think MoCo needs to do a part change. IMO they should last longer.

I put rod ends with a Kevlar/Teflon race. Sourced locally with jam nuts for under $30. Harley just replaces the whole new bar assembly with steel on steel race.($200) Yes you would think they would last longer but you also see allot of 3 or 4 year old TGs for sale with lots of options and little miles on them. Best option I find with mine is to add miles to it.
These things are fun!

Thought it was just me that had that rod go bad. 65k before I became aware of it. When belt was changed. Extended warranty didn't cover it. Wear item my ass.

Checked mine last night after reading this post. Both ends really worn. I can move the bar around a lot by hand. Rode down to dealer this AM. Got an apt next week. 13 TG with 19000 miles.

Dennis, Did you remove the body to get the rod off? Manual says to but it looks like there's enough room to wiggle it out. Was it much of a job to re align the rod? Willie
