I just want to mention a dealership that I have bought many bikes from and they treat me like family. It is nice to know that there are still good dealerships out there for sales and service.

East Coast Cycle Center, Bensalem, Pa. *****

When I bought only two wheel motorcycles in the past, I purchased most of them from "Cycle World of Cherry Hill". Now that they are closed, after 30 years in business, all my dealing will now be with EAST COAST CYCLE CENTER, since they are one of the major dealers who handle trikes and Canam Spyders plus great service. I will still miss my friends at Cycle World. I hate to see any dealership close due to a bad economy . My new found friends are now here in Bensalem,Pa. at ECCC.

I myself was not impressed with East Coast Cycle Center. We made a long trip(3hrs.) to see a Lehman Trike in person. When we got there they didn't have any on the floor. They had 4 GL1800's, but no trike. We spoke with a salesman who said they had a couple out back still in the crates. That's nice, but of no help. He then tried to persuade us to buy a bike from him and they would trike it. I said, no see em, no buy em! He then replied, I guess we should put one together to have on the floor. How do you expect people to drop $35,000-$40,000 sight unseen? :AGGHH: Tom :Trike1:

I agree totally with what you just said. The only trikes I have seen before going there were when customers drove in with them for service or parts. That is when I got excited about trikes. I had a 2011 Canam Spyder RTS/SE5 that I bought from them last summer and enjoyed it for a year. I had NO problems at all with my Spyder and put on about 5000 miles in the year. I loved it. However, when I drove up there last month I saw the 05 GL1800 Lehman MonarchII trike on the showroom floor. That was the end of the Spyder. I now fell in love with the GL and all the Bling that was on it. LOL

When I bought my trike last month they had a second one on the floor. It was a 2008 GL1800 Lehman Monarch II in black. This one was $29,995 and mine was $26,995. Mine was much fancier and $3000 less. Any service I ever needed was always taken care of quickly and professionally. I am sure that employees always get a bad hair day once in a while. But all in all I have been very happy with ECCC. I know the owner, Walt Young and all the employees there from going there so often and buying so many machines. Most companies around here say they will build one for you. I guess they don't want to inventory all these bikes knowing that everyone wants something different. Down south and out west I am sure there are plenty of trikes for sale, but not here in the Jersey or Pa. areas.

I believe that most of the trikes you will see on the floor are ones that are traded in or bought outright by the dealer.

I just stopped by ECCC this morning. They still have the same 08 GL1800 Lehman Monarch II trike on the showroom. Now if you want to see something different, just go into their back room and see a 1995 GL1500 with a 2 seater sidecar attached. Now that is different. It is a dark green and really really wide. The sidecar is made by Champion. I think they are asking somewhere around $9,995.I did have a slight problem today. I always enjoy having a soda from the soda machine (Caffein Free Diet Pepsi). The machine was sold out so I tried another soda. The Pepsi machine took my money and didn't give me a soda. I complained to my salesman (Aaron Rubinsky) and he said to contact Pepsi in China. I told him I would write a post if he said that to me. One of the technicians came out to the machine and released the hung up door underneath and out came the soda. Kudos to Service and Parts Dept. Boooooos to Aaron. LOL. Only kidding. By the way, they had 15 used Goldwings in the back and 4 new ones in the front. That is alot of Goldwings for this area of the country.

p.s. I absolutely LOVE riding my GL1800 Trike.....:GL1800:

Did you call them before you made the 3 hour trip to see if they had any trikes on display ? If not, then I don't think you can blame them for not having any there to show you. In the past, the only times I saw trikes at ECCC was when someone had it there for servicing or just stopping by. There were never any on the showroom floor until recently when they obtained two for trade-ins or they bought them outright. When I went to Ace Motorworks in Berlin, New Jersey last year they did have 4 trikes for sale. This is because they are a trike building company and they continue to purchase different motorcycles and trike them.

p.s. When I went trike hunting last year, I would always call ahead and ask them if they had any on display or for sale.

I bought mine basically sight unseen. Although I was provided with photos of the ongoing installation of the Hannigan kit. I had no reservations about buying mine that way after all the research I had done.

I have absolutely NO regrets in my decision.......but then I spent two years doing research on the various dealers and installers.

Last winter during my stay In Florida I called Cycle World in Cherry Hill N.J. to see if they would sell me a new 2012 Goldwing. I would pick it up on my way home to Canada. When they found out I was Canadian they told me they would not sell to Canadians as Honda would be upset. I told them I had a valid addres in Florida and would buy it using that addres. Their answer, "NO"!!!!!!! I told them they must be doing a lot of business in that type of economy the US has been having in the last five years to be able to turn down a cash sale. So, I really have no sympathy for the owner of that dealership at all. In my view, cash in hand is worth two cash in hand in the bush. They should have worried more about potential/cash customers than Honda America. Honda does not pay their bills at the end of the month. GYMPY

Gee I didn't know there was a place to put down your citizenship when you purchased something. Purchased a register it in Florida no brainer. GYMPY their loss. I hope you found a more reasonable dealer.
