Have at it. Ask me anything you want within reason and I will answer it. Any subject, funny, serious, semi-personal, odd, political, interests, life lessons, health, family, travel, forum related, whatever...

I saw this on another Admin Owners Forum I'm on, where members & staff volunteered to take the AMA (ask me anything) challenge and it was interesting and fun to get to know one another better. Id rather do it here than the open forum though...:)

They'll be drawing the lottery numbers tomorrow, I'd like you to give me the winning numbers please. I'll share the money.:) Ok gotta go tell my wife our financial future is secure. Thanks Zook, man what a great guy!:clapping:

Come on Bob, you already told us you don't wash your underwear. You turn it inside, outside, front to back then you wear it as a hat to air out the stink and start all over again.:xzqxz:

Its a scientific fact that underwear turns itself inside out at least 50% of the time in the washer due to the hydraulic action of the machines agitator. According to tests, Haynes with the wide waist band tend to stay right side out more often than most. That is what the internet says so it must be true.

How do you manage to find the time to daily read every post made to Trike Talk, administrate the forum, run a business, maintain a family life including grandchildren, ride and keep up with Rhino 2?

ThumbUp:D

Easy...I do a crappy job at all of them..

Did you walk to work, or bring your lunch?

If I walked to work I'd be an hour late instead of just 10 minutes, so nope. I need to be walking though, just not to work. I'd never get back home because I am tired when I get off and its usually late if I am building a trike. I have a huge vinyl bean bag that I just bought and have managed to take a nap on it once...not a good idea though because I sleep with a cPap and it stays at home.

I do have a part time helper I use from time to time, but I do a lot of the work myself, I'm just slow, but I know its done right when it leaves my shop. I take lots of pictures before, during and after. 90% are Harley Tour bikes or Honda GL1800s, mostly Roadsmith and some Champion/Lehman.

I always keep a variety of food to eat at work because I don't like to leave to eat...for one, traffic is too busy at lunch and every place to eat in Conroe is slammed plus it costs too much to eat out. Also unless I eat light, I get the after lunch blahs and don't feel like doing physical work. I keep a couple of the Kroger .99 bags of chopped salad in the fridge, some cans of Campbell's tomato and various chunky soups, some cheese sticks, ocassionally Vienna sausages, turkey breast or Sam's rotisserie chicken, stuff like that.

This is possibly the most thorough, thought out answer to a nonsense question that I’ve ever helt, smelt, or felt.

What would happen if you’re in the Oval Office with the president (and you may choose whatever president that has served in your lifetime), and you tell him to go pee in the corner?

Making the best of nonsense questions. Maybe I should move this to the open forum.

Love Jugs

Here is a serious question:

I have a question. I have the Love Jugs installed on my 16 TriGlide. I noticed the EITMS becomes active when I am at a stoplight during Texas heat. I understood that with Love Jugs installed that the EITMS would not come on because the Love Jugs would efficiently cool the engine. So, what do you think and in my last statement is this true or not? Even today with 71 degree weather, love jugs were on and I pulled up to a stoplight and within 20 seconds the EITMS went active. Just wondering!

Thanks

Pat

Could it be that EITMS has never gone active on my Freewheeler, or is it more likely it has and I do not have a clue? I could tell instantly when I had a bad mag during run up in an airplane so I don't think I am totally clueless, but I am blonde.

Could it be you disable it ! I know with my T/G’s there was a setting to do just that ?📞

Pat,

There are several factors that have to be present at the same time to activate the EITMS including engine temp, ambient air temp, idle and bike speed and throttle position and as its been discussed here by Kevin and others, some engines just run a bit hotter or cooler than others, so some bikes do hit the right combination and the EITMS will come on even with the Love Jugs fans running under certain conditions, and then some others do not....lots of variables for that including engine oil selection.

In late 2016 Harley recalibrated the settings on the EITMS and they sent out a dealer service bulletin to that affect. At that time they started shipping all bikes and trikes equipped with the EITMS, DISABLED as the factory default setting, where prior to that it was enabled on all that were equipped with them. In the bulletin, they instruct their dealers to discuss the customers "riding style" and have the customer determine if they want the EITMS enabled or not. Many choose not to run it at all and it does not void the warranty, but personally I would use one or the other, first choice being the fans, no EITMS and a good full synthetic oil along with a proper tune.

The bottom line is, a trike equipped with Love Jugs is never going to get hot enough to suffer engine damage so I suggest and you disable the EITMS. Read this thread below on HD Forums, its has a lot of good info on the subject. Many there disable it with or without any fans.

Post #14 has a link to the HD Service bulletin .

Lola,

If your trike is a 2017 or later, it is shipped to the dealer with the EITMS disabled. Its unlikely it would have never gone active if it was enabled. But, now that I think about it, since you are running Love Jugs it may be enabled and just hasn't gotten hot enough to activate. If it went active, you'd know it...it idles noticeably rougher and sounds different.
