Safe travels, and I will keep up with U... I always wanted to go to Alaska, have even though about the cruise.. after 28yrs in the military U would think I might have made it to Alaska, they sent me everywhere else..:D

You go guys!! I just found your post. I will be following your posts everyday. I want to thank you for your commitment to your blog. We all appreciate your efforts VERY MUCH! I know it can be very exhausting to travel like this. And as much fun as it is .... by the end of the day it is not always that easy to get online and post picture and record the details. I am sure many times you would just like to go to bed.
We did a 3400 mile trip last summer from Sioux Falls, SD to Edmonton,AB.
We went up through Manitoba and Saskatchewan. (we even went through your town of Davidson) then returned though BC, Montana and Wyoming. We had some rain but mostly more cold than we would have liked.
Yesterday we just returned from 5 days is the Black Hills. 1350 miles round trip.
Topped it off with a moonlight ride through the Badlands on Thursday night. We got back to our hotel at Wall, SD about 1:00 AM. Full moon, slight breeze and 72°. A wonderful experience!
On the way home I suggested to my wife that would should plan a trip to Alaska. She still has not responded. So I will be following your trip very closely.
Stay safe, warm and dry:)

We just got our trike, a 2009 HD TriGlide. I traded my '08 StreetGlide for the trike in preparations to ride to Alaska in June 2011. I drove the ALCAN seven times while I was stationed in Anchorage from December 1988, my first trip up the ALCAN, to July 1992, when I returned to the Lower 48 before retiring from the U.S. Army. Hope your trip is safe and extremely enjoyable!!!

Just the kind of trip I am thinking of for August 2011. From Long Island, through Edmonton. Then Fairbanks and up to Arctic Circle. Then down to Portland, OR and maybe back home. Depending on time.
Good luck on current trip. I'll check out the blog.

Arrived home safely on Friday afternoon. Was an awesome experience, improved as the weather improved. For everyone thinking of going next year most Alaskans say it rains every second year so next year is a good choice. We saw 13 trikes on the road - two of which were in Alaska. There is lots of gravel so if you can cover your fenders some how to protect the paint it would be a good idea. Thanks everyone who followed us along on our ride. It kept us motivated to update the blog. Paul & Mary Lynne
