Alabama lady with cracking in Champion trike fender

Well, I got on this forum because my husband and I just purchased a 2006 HD Ultra Classic with a Champion trike kit. We just noticed some cracking on the back fender around the light and down. It is more like spider webbing. I first thought oh no, the body is cracked then I thought it may be the paint. Does anybody out there have any suggestions?

If your in doubt if it's the clear coat, paint, or body, take it to a body shop and get a few opinions.

Welcome to Trike-Talk... The spider webbing sometimes happens to fiberglass, Any body shop that works on Corvettes can help you....

Welcome glad you joined us. Sorry to hear about our problem. Good body shop should be able to help you. We were in Gardendale a couple of weeks ago for a GWRRA Officers Conf. If ya'll get down this way holler and we'll get a cup. RIDE SAFE

Welcome from Missouri, I have dealt with fiberglass and most of the time it is a crack in the fiberglass. It really depends on how big the crack is on what you need to do, if it is a hairline crack any body shop can help you if not it takes someone who works with fiberglass to correct the problem.

Speaking from experience having had a car hit the rear of my trike ( twice) that body is a hell of allot tougher than you think it is.

Pull the wheel and have a look at the underside of the fender maybe even shoot it with a coat of light colored paint to see if a crack shows up?
Flexing the fender while looking may show it?

Both times my trike was hit ( Glancing blows ) it did nothing but gouge the fiberglass, The body is around 1/4" or better thick.
The body was even knocked a bit sideways with no damage.

It's not unheard of for paint to crack?
Try buffing it out and see if the spider webbing is superficial?
