Due to the fantastic weather this past weekend, I took a nice meandering ride through many of the winding country roads down here.

How-ever, I was unfortunately reminded of one pre-check that I didn't do!

Always inspect your helmet!!! And I don't mean for cracks, a broken visor or frayed chin straps. Check for uninvited residents!! :AGGHH:

While on my return trip, I feel something crawling on the back of my head. Needless to say there aren't too many places I can pull over with drainage ditches on almost every road around here. I shove my left hand inside the back of my helmet in a vain effort to squash the invader. Two attempts seemed to at least, stopped the damn things movement. I get home, immediately take the helmet off and find a barely alive huge earwig! I "HATE" those damn things!!! :censored:

So I'm now looking for a new place to store my helmets rather then the garage. lol ;)

I put a dryer sheet in my helmet when it's in storage.
I was told this will keep bugs out of it. So far so good, and it keeps it fresh smelling.

I take the sheet with me on long rides and if I get any bugs on the windshield ..... the dryer sheet melts them away by simply wetting it and lightly wipping the smooshed guts away.
Does a great job and no scratching of the windshield.

That's a great idea! I do keep my helmets in the bags. This is the first time I've worn this one so it's been in the bag for over a year. I'll definitely try the dryer sheet.

Thanks ThumbUp
