5,000 mile service.

I am fast approaching the time to get my 5,000 mile service. I am less than 100 miles away, but the soonest I can get a day off work and get it done is almost 2 weeks away. My question is, how far over the 5,000 mile mark can I go without getting in trouble with the warranty police?

I would call the dealer [maint.shop] and ask them to be sure, I was told by mine early or late, it didn't matter, their main concern is the aprox. $400- $500 for it :gah:.
I'll be doing my own from now on. good luck.

We took wife's '11 in for the 10,000 mile service at 10,650. Nothing was said, but we have a great dealer out here. Used to do all my own maintenance on the cars and bikes, I'm SOOooooo old now, it takes me more time to get up from the garage floor than it would take to do the services. Besides, it is a great ride through San Fransquito Canyon to Lancaster on the High Desert. Drop the trikes off for service, they have a shuttle to Crazy Otto's for breakfast, and the scoots are usually done when we finish breakfast.

My 5000 service was done at 5700 miles. I have extended warranty and service agreement. They never said a word about it being over the 5000 mark.

My guess is they won't say anything unless they find something and try to weasel out of it. I'm pretty sure it's up to your dealer.

Do your own service and save a bunch of money. They try to scare you to death about the warranty cause the dealers just love to sell you that overpriced service.
