4.5 or 6 degree rake for CSC

Looking at going with CSC for my 07 Wing. For those who have CSC kit, which rake do you recommend? Most of my riding will be 2 up, no trailer (yet). Not many twisties in northern Indiana, but we ride to North Carolina every chance we get.

You need to go with the 6 degree rake for your GL1800 CSC. Trust me on this, I've sold a few rake kits in my day.

Thanks for the reply. I'm brand new but I have spent the last couple of days going thru old posts and the search feature. I have seen over and over where you help others. Even a "newbie" can see the respect you have on this board. Thanks.

Good question.

I am looking at 4, 5, or 6 for my 2013 Harley FLSTC. What do you say.

The dynamics of the FLSTC or Heritage Soft Tail calls for a 6 degree rake kit. The 6 degree will give you the optimal trail number you are looking for on your trike. My kits come with a 100% money back and I have not steered anyone wrong, just ask any one of the several hundred members I have sold here in the last 5 years.

Thank you for your kind attention to my question.

Will 6 degrees be suitable for riding in our 49 states. My wife and me have already ridden in 50 states on FLSTC's - 49 and than flew to Hawii and rented bikes to have all 50.

Now I'd like to do it on a trike. Note: my FLSTC has a MOtor Trike Conversion.

If 6 is correct, I will consider your suggestion.

"We had the wife's Heritage triked about a year ago and she has never really been happy with the twisties. It was giving her a pretty good workout so she was wanting to stay on the straights more & more. Well you know that can get pretty boring so after much research & talking to Zook about it I ordered one of his kits."

"I received it on Monday evening, installed it Tuesday with no issues at all and tried it out this afternoon. We rode about 40 miles of mostly flat curves that had posted speeds of 35 - 50 mph. She was easily taking them at 10 - 12 mph over that and said it required at least 50-60% less effort.....very satisfied to say the least!!pepper She said it was much more enjoyable to ride!!

So if any of you are considering a rake kit....don't put it off any longer!! It can be easily installed by most anyone with a little mechanical aptitude and a few hours to kill...........DO IT!!!"

It will absolutely be perfect for riding in all 50 states. If you buy a rake kit from me and are not 100% satisfied I will give you a 100% refund. I believe I talked to you via phone today...if this is Ruben from Texas? The phone said Bammel Tx but I see that is a suburb of Houston. We have lots of family in The Woodlands.

I appreciate the kudos, my recommendations for specific rake kits for specific bikes/trikes comes from many years of building trikes and selling hundreds of rake kits both here in in my shop. I have learned what I have through both hands on experience and feedback from members I have sold here. You do something long enough, you learn a thing of two.

Now see what you guys have done. You caused ZOOK to admit his weakness. :xszpv: :xszpv:

YUP, the man just has to know what he's talking about before he'll give advice. I've read a lot and talked to several folks about Rake & Trail. Believe me there is nobody better equipped to guide you with your choices. ThumbUp ThumbUp ThumbUp

No I don't get a commission but I am a strong supporter!!!!

I converted my 2004 Wing last October to a CSC kit. I went with the 6 degree rake and am so glad I did. Handles like a dream. You won't be sorry.

I bought a 08 GW with CSC in July but I really don't know what rake it has on it. I know it is raked because I have driven Motortrike with no rake and there is a world of difference. Is there a measurement you can take on the front end to tell the degree of rake? Just curious.

Zook: Already have a 4.5 rake on my GL '04 CSC trike. How much practical difference will the 6 make? Worth it?

It does make a noticeable difference Ghalib, but if you're pretty comfortable with the 4.5 I'm not sure Id spend the money.

CSC changed to a 6 degree rake kit sometime after my wing was converted in July of 2007. I am very happy with 4.5 degree and see no reason to change.
