2012 Tri Glide new 12-01-12. Rolled over today to 17000 miles. 530 mile round trip. Delicious Hillbilly hotdog with the grandson.
4600 miles in 2 weeks in July. One day it was 108 degrees and darn near as hot most of the others. 4 fluid changes. 1 new front tire last Friday, had 16400 miles on old one. No new brake pads, rear brakes and parking brake all good yet, but going in for new front rotor, warped, and it started leaking a small amount of oil from the oil cooled/filter area, gasket needed. Hit the right fender during vacation on my camping trailer hitch...Same day in the Rockies fresh gravel and tar road tried to blast the paint off of both the fenders. Bought fender covers. Lots of enjoyment from this trike. I haven’t did any mods to the engine, exhaust etc. Runs well with only a little extra noise from the compensator. I once modified a 97 Classic, cam carb mufflers etc and regretted it, to much noise. But......
I’ve talked to the mechanic and the dealer and plan on driving it till the engine needs rebuilt, it will be under warranty they say since with the miles I ride it should need it before the 2 years of the warranty is up, gotta love these twin cams! Gonna pipe it, Vance and Hines true duals, maybe Von Braun pipes, a thunder-jet and a cam that they have just got the first prototype in that is made per their specs just for the trikes for more low end torque is what its for they say thats the plan anyway. New billet crank and bearings etc.
The morel of the story is this - I’ve always racked up the miles on all my bikes, Harleys, Honda gold wing, Triumphs etc, I will never have to buy another bike because I have found the one to keep. No matter how many issues I may have it is the one that works the best for my wife and I. Love it or leave it they say and I love it, the good and bad. Be safe and ride what treats you right. Jim
