2008 has Play in steering

I heard a pop and the steering developed play (meaning that you can turn the steering wheel a little in each direction without the front wheel responding).

With trike parked and rocking the steering wheel the only movement seems to be in the steering sector.

Has anyone had any knowledge of this issue?

Also does anyone know what car uses the same steering sector?

Thanks, Joe

Fuzzy I'm here. Funtimes take a look at the bearings in the steering head. If it is what I think you will find the bearings are rusted out. Take them to a Napa or something they can replace them.. When you when you put it back together pack it full of grease. I did a sticky on this in the Stallion forum.

When I was checking for tightness on mine, I found the turnbuckle that goes from the steering arm to the triple tree loose at the triple tree. There was no washer on the bottom of the knuckle, so the nut was eating into the aluminum. It was wobbling around quite a bit. I put a washer under the castle nut and tightened it up and everything seems solid now. There is no play in the steering. Rick

Newbie help

There were a couple of posts to my thread and my replies that are not no longer showing.

Do I need to look somewhere else, or have they been deleted.

Thanks to everyone that responded.

My Stallion had a popping sound come out of the front and I found the bearing at the downtub and swing arm was bad. Might want to check it just in case.
