2 wheels to 3

After 50 years riding on two wheels (Started with mini bikes) and putting 106,000+ miles on my '07' HD Ultra I can honestly say NOPE, not one bit. I really love our trike and more so each day. :Coffee:

I can say I miss riding on 2 wheels at times, however if it was simply a yes no question with nothing else to say the answer would be a resounding NO. As a addition to that riding two up no not at all it's so much easier and more relaxing especially when the feet have to come down and also in city traffic.

Love my trike especially when riding two up. Knees cant handle 2 up on 2 wheeler. Would I like a two wheeler, with just me on it? Sure would !..But I would never give up the trike.

Yep, which is why I have the ST1300. It satisfies all my "go fast" "lean in the curves" desires.

That said, I love my trike. And, the trike will be the last one standing.

Honestly after 40+ years on two wheels the first few months on the trike was questionable. I missed everything with two that just isn't there on three. Then I started really enjoying everything on the three wheel that the two didn't give me. When I put that together with good rational thinking and weighing the Pro's and Con's of each, weighting the safety heavily I started enjoying the trike more each ride. Had some New Englanders come down for a bike ride across 4 mountains including the Dragon of course. A 550 mile day trip and I was certainly hooked. I will never go back to two wheels, its better to go early than too late. Trikes can be really enjoyable if you want them to be. Wife Loves the Trike and will never ride anything else as well.

I like 'm both. Just depends on the type of riding I plan doing. Even as old I am I still like to do the 'Dance' in the twisties..... And that's why I own both...

Trike is the best, no stress in riding, can be seen better than a two wheeler, IMO much safer. ThumbUp

When I triked my Wing several years ago I kept my two wheel Harley. After one riding season I sold the Harley. Only put 750 miles on it that year. Too hot to ride in the Summer and the Trike was just too much fun.

yes I missed my 2 wheeler for the first 2 day. after I realized I was having as much fun, less stress, and could out ride most 2 wheels in the twisties, now that fun. + the wife loves the trike

Not at all! I kept my Sportster for when I want to carve some corners, run full throttle through the gears, and feel the power, and hear those pipes. Yep, I kept it for that reason. After less than 100 miles in almost two years doing that.... anyone wanna buy a 2003 100th year anniversary HD Sportster?

I kept my two wheelers, When I got the Trike. Just can't get riding bikes out of my system, Thought I Would/Could, But I can't....

The only times I miss being on 2 wheels in on roads like the Dragon, or roads like that any where. The good thing is I usually ride with my son BGBLK06. He said any time I want to trade bikes for a while just pull over and ride his bike. I really do enjoy 3 wheels. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Larry

I added my trike with my 2 wheel bikes.
Been riding on 2 wheels for too many years to give it up all together.
Main purpose my our trike is for trips.
I do good on 2 wheels 2 up as long as we are not loaded. I do good with the Street Glide. But whe we add the trunk and all our luggage it is a challenge.
We do ride the trike more than our 2 wheels most of the time but I still love riding the Street Glide. If just me I really get into riding the super glide 113, Light, Very quick, and handles great.
I know the time is near before I have to go to 3 wheels all the time.
So I take advantage of it while I can.
All trips are done on the trike.

The day I picked up my trike from the installer I never looked back. When I bought my Goldwing 3 years ago I had the thought in mind to trike as soon as i could get the extra bucks together.

Curious Question:
Does anyone miss your 2 wheel ride after converting to 3 wheels trike?

Cheers!

Yes every day. But I am no longer comfortable riding 2 wheels for more then a short cruise, so I don't think I'll be going back either. The trike is fun, it is now less stressful to ride, but I do miss that 2 wheel feel.

I haven't had the trike very long so I guess I'm still undecided. We did have some decent weather a little while back and I was able to jump back and forth without any issues. I think one thing that makes it a bit easier, for me at least, is that I ride a quad pretty regularly. If I have to make a choice between two or three wheels I'm pretty sure I will go with three.

I agree about the quad riding, that's what the trike reminds me of. I think that's the reason I could just jump on an go. The trike is just faster an smoother.

Yep...terribly so at first.

Between the issues we had with the conversion and my inability to adapt to the change in the steering and handling after almost 50 years on 2 wheels, I regretted ever triking our '06 Wing. So much so that I almost sold it (thank the Lord now that I didn't!!). I went out and bought a new Yamaha FJR 1300 and kept the trike for long distance riding when my wife would ride. It took me about a 1000 miles to get totally used to the trike. Today: I wouldn't trade our trike for anything. I love it and glad I did it now. The Yamaha? Well, after a year and a half, it's only got 700 miles on it and will probably go up for sale this spring. The trike stays.
