As some of you know the weekend of Sept 8th i was headed to Ky for a long weekend when the engine light came on and the reverse stopped working. So upon my return i took the trike to the dealer on the 11th for the appointment, well just got it back last night 17 days later. On the 17th of Sept they called and said that the trike was done and i could come pick it up so off we head 30 plus miles one way. When we arrive and looked at the paper work i asked them that it doesnt show that they adjusted the parking brake or checked the trans fluid(having migration issues into the primary)since it has 1000 miles since they put the dye in the transmission.

So the service writer goes back and gets the Tech and brings him up front with the paper work, well the service writer who wrote it up failed to put the trans and brake adjust on the work order. So the techs says give me about 30 minutes,he comes back about 15 minutes later and tells me that there is dye in the primary so it has to stay so he can drain it and measure it then call Harley.

So i grab the GM and give him a good ear full about me having a nearly 70 mile round trip for nothing. So he offers to deliver it to me when its done and i asked him what about having the parts over nighted since this was their screw up.So this was Tuesday the 17th the tech sent me a text on Thursday and said that the parts are on the way.So by Wed of the following week i have heard nothing so i call the dealership and service tells me that they are still waiting on parts:mad: so finally i called yesterday about 2.30 and the GM answered in service and said that it was ready and that he could have it delivered on Sat,i told him dont bother i will come get it now.The coward wouldn't look at me when i waked in,so in spring i will be buying the extended warranty but not from them. And have given some thought about getting a new trike when the 2020's come out but once again it wont be from this dealership.

Dump that dealership

After all the baloney you have had to put up with, I sure wouldn't give them another penny of your money or deal with them anymore if you have a reasonable alternative dealer. Reading things like this make some of us fellow TGU owner a bit despondent about the potential reliability of these early M8's going forward. I did in fact buy a HD-sponsored ESP and so will let the MOCO and/or their chosen insurance company deal with the potentially crappy reliability they seem to be building into some of their high-cost machines. Knock on wood but the replacement engine that Harley provided the selling dealer before I purchased this machine with 80 miles on it has been quite reliable with the exception of a rear oxygen sensor that had become weak and was intermittently failing with a code. I rode along the Atlantic ocean for about 170 miles today and it was a BEAUTIFUL ride. With the ESP, I really don't give a damn if the thing breaks as I thankfully have another trike and a sports car as backup toys. I would be more pissed/anxious if the TGU were my only toy and it was placed out of commission for an extended period due to dealer ineptness.
