14 tri glide back rest on trunk

Hello evey one i'm new here , just wanted to know if any one has a problem with there back rest on the trunk ,mine seems to be rubbing against the trunk and leaving marks on the paint and the leather, asked the dealer and he seemed that it wasn't a issue but over time i'm sure the leather will give out. Any thoughts. Oh and thanks for any help

Mine does the same thing. Right at the bottom of the Tour pack. Keeping it waxed does not help. Not sure think it is because the piece on the back rest is not flexible like in previous years.

I've noticed the same thing on our 2 wheel bagger and the same thing on the trike. The only thing I have for ya if it bothers you is to maybe put a piece of 3M adhesive film in the area where it's rubbing the hatbox. Kinda sounds like a "nature of the beast" problem though.

I had to put a section of 3M film there. Took care of the wearing of paint by the wiring harness and such...

Did the same thing where my jeans were scuffing the back edge of the gas tank. No more marks there either.

Helps that my neighbor is a 3M installer...

Just got back on, and wanted to say thanks to every one, as far as the problem that's what the dealer told me , try the 3m. I'll have to get some pics up soon.
