So after reading a bunch it looks like to remove some heat you have to do something with the header. Decat is an option but I can't weld, plus there seems to be some question about the O2 readings. New headers also a choice. Looking for opinions on this. Also, do most replacements need extensions?

I replaced mine with Fullsac headers which comes with their extension. I couldnt deal with the heat on my right foot. V&H has a nice set too. There are others but the object is getting rid of the heat plus you gain a little more extra power.

If you decat, then to help the o2 sensors get an accurate read it is good to put about a 3/16" tall bead around the inner circumference of the header...right at where the end of the cat used to be.

I did that on my '11, but on my 14 I got the Ceramic coated Fuel Moto 2-1-2 headers (they come with the extension), just so I would not have to mess with de-catting and putting that bead in there.

Has anyone tried the Rush ECO Full System? I realize not top of the line but around $500 for headers and mufflers. Guess extensions are extra.
