Ok - I've done most everything else to my 2021 TG except the Big Bore Kit. I'm going to do that over the winter (Fuel Moto 128 kit, 5.5 fuel injectors, S/E 64mm throttle body and Manifold, S/E clutch w/medium springs). Already have the mufflers, headers, a/c, tuner, and cam.

Some builders have said that Big Bore kits can shred your belt drive and may cause transmission problems even with moderate acceleration and daily driving.

I'm not aggressive and do mostly open road long distance touring.

I know that a few of you in trikeland have done the 128 or the 131 kit and I'm wondering if any of you have had any belt or transmission problems.

I know I don't "need" the BB Kit but I'd love to have the extra power on tap when and if needed.

And, of course, for the "fun factor" as well! :D

Any info any of you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Ride and Have Fun!

I have people come up to me all the time asking how fast will your Trike go? and my stock answers is as fast as my fear of death overrides my need for speed….😁..

But I can understand the reason for wanting a big bore kit.. It’s not always how fast you can go It’s getting to go as fast as you want to Go and getting there as fast as you can ..šŸ¤”..

I have no experience with belt wear but

I took a road glide trike for a long test ride with a S & S 128 c.i. engine

and I have to say it was a fun ride it did not have the low end grunt I expected from a stop sign

But once it was rolling just a little YEE HAW !

I had a fuel moto 128 kit in my 2020 tri glide at that time I could not find anybody to tune it, it dynoed with a shit tune 132 ft pounds of torque 118 hp, I beat the crap out of it more than most would, never broke a belt or rear axle. trans held up good, fourth gear if you caught it right it would pick the front wheel off the ground, it was a lot of fun, I had put a Hayden primary chain adjuster in it, it broke at a stop light got caught between the clutch hub sprocket and the primary chain, bent the crank shaft and broke the left engine case. So i bought a new short block went with screamin eagle 117 cylinders, pistons, heads, screamin eagle 64mm throttle body redshift 472 cam S&S oil pump, cam plate, Vance & Hines 2-1-2 exhaust, put a Thunder Max tuner, Never had it Dynoed I think it was a better running motor than the 128. What ever you do make sure you have somebody to tune it. I had a 98 Road Glide with a champion kit on it, I put a S&S 124 Super Side Winder in it Carburated that was a evo motor, took it out of the crate never touch it no jetting nothing, 134 foot pounds of torque 128 HP never broke anything I had a Baker 6 speed in that Rivera Pro Clutch. :D

What did you use for a cam & heads, What tuner ? A guy up hear owns a HD dealer he did just the 131 cylinders & piston's and a cam I think it was the screamin eagle 447 cam , He liked it said it was reliable That was a 2 wheeler

My motor build was all SE parts except for the Power Vision tuner. The bike started with a Vance and Hines stage I. Cam was a 462, heads were the SE stage IV. Reliability was certainly one of the higher priorities....
