Got my tri-glide in for it's 1000 mile service. Before it was delivered, I had to wait for a week and a half before the parts I ordered had shown up to be installed. Now they called and more parts had to be ordered as they found the water thermostat housing was leaking. So it looks as tho I will be sitting for a few days. And I got my new set of lift kits from Tglide. Was waiting until I got it back from service to install. So I guess I will sitting idle while I watch this nice weather go by.

:gah:

The bike is back and I am on the road again. Wow, I have always done my own maintenance and never have ever owned a new bike until I got the triglide. Now when I bought the bike, they asked me about a maintenance service agreement and I almost didn't take it but I thought the older I get, hey let them do it why not. $386.00 for the servicing of the triglide. Wow. Didn't have to pay for it because of the service agreement but hey I am beginning to believe these other guys on the site here when they say what they had to pay. Got my Fullsac header pipe and going to get that on tomorrow. The heat coming off of that CAT on the right side is burning up my foot up. And in about 5 days going on a road trip to Southern CA and knowing the heat that is coming off of that pipe, no way. Get that header on for sure.

On both my trikes I had the cat removed by my dealers swap-out pipe method. They charge $200 plus 2 hours labor ( $380). Someone opens and mills out the cats and rewelds and then they go into a stock and just trade pipes when you have it done while you wait. A good deal I think.

BTW, The free 1k mile checkups we used to get with new bikes sure went down the drain with their new service contracts! They are making more money than ever before and cutting out services with new bikes. A 35k bike with no free 1k service. Shame on you mother!!

Yeah you're right about the free 1k thing. Maybe some dealers are still doing it but this dealer didn't even mention it. They never said anything about the pipe exchange but this dealer probably doesn't do it. They wanted me to do the V&H header but I wanted something else. Oh yeah they wanted me to pay $389.00 for a fuelpak FP3 plus installing. Found it on line for $329.00 and it was a plug and play. Got my Iphone, dialed it in and I was riding with in 20 mins.

Service plans???? I only wish they had those in my neck of the woods. Not even fixed rate for regular service. These weasels all charge by the hour (and move real slow).
