Gas Tank

Never thought about this until the first time I filled up. Does the tank still take 5 1/2 gallons full? Reason I ask is my low fuel light comes on at about 140 miles but when I fill up it only takes about 3.6 gallons. Right now I figure I'm getting about 38.5 mpg. It's a CSC conversion of my vintage. Indian's owner's manual states the bike is supposed to be filled up resting on the side stand.

Did you add the CSC auxillary tank option or no?

No, unfortunately not available for Indian.

Your gas gage didn't change but I bet the angle of the bike did when it was triked. So now the gage reads a different level with the same fuel load. Either the back is higher or the front is higher.

Interesting. My range at full says 210 miles, which makes sense. I use my trip 1 to keep miles and reset at every fill up. I think I will run it out to 160 miles and see how much it takes.

Take 38.5 mpg x 5 gallons you should be able to go about 195 miles? but if I get on the freeway & run 75 or more MPH my mileage can drop to 30MPG, it drives me crazier the light comes on with 2 gallons left in the tank. I ran out once, Thats why I made a 7-gallon tank, my last tank today 237 miles 5.75 gallons. when I made my 7-gallon tank I bent the sending unit to try to get the gauge more accurate, that did not work. So now I reset the trip at each fill up & go no more than 260 miles, & carry one of those quarts of gas you can buy at Lowes
