I went out NE a few years back and really wasn't too bad. I was on a road trip with 2 buddies and one of their wives. Only did a small portion of Maine, camping near Bar Harbor and visited Acadia National Park. After that, hung out in New Hampshire and visited Mt Washington. If you want an interesting challenge, drive up that mountain road. After that we just kind of breezed through Vermont. We stayed out of any real towns and just traveled 2 lane back roads. I liked it but doubt I will ever head back out there again.
I will be able to cash out a Canadian pension plan I had when I lived and worked in Toronto. It will be enough to travel for at least 2 months. I might have to return to North Carolina to refill meds or such but I will leave again after I have seen my house is ok and spends little to 3m with the Family.
Looks like a great trip - wow, 6 months on the road.
If you are leaving in June, that means you are returning in December. Can't really see your ride plan - just make sure you are out of the Michigan area by late October.
Speaking of Michigan, I am in Lake Orion - look me up on the may and let me know if you are heading my way
