I would not worry about it unless you expect not to be riding it for more than a couple of months. I would keep the gas tank full to help with preventing condensation inside the tank. That's about it.
It's been awhile since I have changed the pads on the rear, but don't those clips sit in a slot in the calipers then the pads slide into the clips when inserted into the calipers?
If installed correctly they should not come loose. The pads hold them in place. I might be wrong its been 3 years...
