I also think I read somewhere else the same info and a few people chimed in about the dubious quality of the Amazon alternative. Interesting, got a parts guy that knew how to work the system. Complete conversion kit with pump cheaper than pump alone. So I’ll have spare hoses , clamps , wiring adapter.- ctdair

Yes , old unit already off. Removed impeller housing, very stiff to turn. Removed rear cover to expose circuit board. No obvious burning there. Split off rear portion to expose motor coils ( had to snip wires to accomplish this, pump already bad ) nothing obvious burnt. I can’t pinpoint a...- ctdair

If what I’ve been reading is correct the water pumps on M8 motors are capable of variable speed and the command voltage for speed is controlled by ECM. ABS system
An early Ford and possibly others ABS system actually had a high pressure master cylinder. It was basically an accumulator ? It had a procedure to depressurize before you could remove top. Very dangerous if you removed cap under pressure.- ctdair
