After you get them polish I think you’re gonna have to clear coat .. When I polish my wheels on my 2011 I had to clear coat them .The aluminum will stain fast..

I spread Vaseline on the side walls of the tires so the spray (Rattle can clear coat ) can’t/won’t stick to them but only stick to the wheels.

or you can remove the tires and take them to a powder coating shop and have a clear coat sprayed on and then baked.

The next tire replacement , they will be chrome powder coated. Too old for that polished routine.

I was going to have them put chrome wheels on when I got my 2019 but there’s no way during a lockdown I could’ve had it done so I just have to bend down every now and wax them..
