Hot battery .

Has anyone found that their battery gets too hot being tucked in away from the air stream? Is a cooling fan ever needed for battery boxes?

You have a very good point, just like anything electrical, cooler is better

Electricity by nature creates heat, batteries can and do explode from too much heat

A quick check of a charging system is in order, if too much voltage is being generated by a sticking regulator it can easily create an over charge= more heat

Personally I think it’s a non-issue….

I haven’t had any reason to check any battery for heat.. Before the advent of smart chargers you would have to check that the battery doesn’t get too hot (Over charged) when you put it on a regular charger for long periods of time… But those days are long gone ..

Hot Battery

Usually caused by over charging or a high amp draw . Or just too small for the job .
