I have someone that wants to buy the rear wheel and tire off my 1800 and I don't know what a fair asking price is for it. It is in good condition with 50 - 60% tread left on the tire, an E3 Dunlop. Any idea of a fair price?

It's kind of a crap shoot.... E-Bay has them from $50 and up. All depends on condition I guess...

What year and how clean are two questions I'd be asking. A half used up E3 has some value but not a whole lot.

I'd guess an average wheel and tire should bring between $90 and $120...

Check with yiur local dealer for the price of a new one, and then ask for at least 60% of that price (wheel only, give them the tire). I think you'll be amazed at how much a wheel costs.

Agreed with Scalp Hunter.......normally, our rule-of-thumb for used parts is 50% of the new price. But Scalp Hunter's suggestion makes perfect sense to me. New wheels themselves can be extremely pricey......

That rule of thumb does not work here, because there's a glut of rear wheels from trike conversions lowering the price. A new one costs $500+. They go for about $100.

Final drive, also. But if you want to really cry, price the saddlebags new, and then see what trike people are getting for them. Maybe 10% of new.

Outside of the trike world, these rims are still pretty expensive. Go snoop around on some 2 wheel wing forums, and check the prices of a wheel like yours. jimsjinx
