Does your fridge remind you when it's time to change its water filter? Got to talking with our refrigerator repair man (he was at the house to repair our ice maker that had taken a dump on an 8 year old fridge) and he said replacing water filters are a scam by the refrigerator manufacturers to get you to buy something you really don't need. When your "replace water filter" lite comes on simply remove the existing one then stick it right back in where it was. The fridge can't tell the difference between an new one and a used one. As long as there's no degradation of water taste or reduction in water flow you're OK. Why buy expensive water filters you don't need?

Verizon......Would e-mail me every 6 months or so and a red light would come on the back-up battery for the land line, That i need a new battery[From them $$$]....I would just un-plug the positive side and plug it back in and i was good to go for 6 more months .....Did that for years........

Yeah, my Samsung does the same. I just treat it like my wife and pretend I didn’t hear or notice it and then change it later. I will go 9 or 10 months but I did not think about just reinserting it. Amazing what you can learn on a Harley forum :).

Thats because on Trike-Talk we talk about all subjects .....I'll even bet that if you ask what is the proper way to tie your shoelaces , You'll get a proper answer,

Try that on a Loud pipes saves lives forum....:D......

On my 6 year old Samsung, I just touch and hold the "Alarm Reset" button for 3 seconds.

This will clear the notification and reset everything back to normal.

The filter does not need to be removed at all to initiate the reset process.

Have a Whirlpool Side by Side that's a few years old now. It has a Filter Status Reset Button above top right side. Push in 5 times within 10 seconds and the Filter Status Light changes back to Green.

Yep, I did the same, hold the reset button for a few seconds to reset. One time I noticed the water sprout refill was flowing slow and had a weak flow. I changed the filter and that made a big difference with the flow. Should last at lease 2 or 3 more years. Filter was only $20.

Discountfilters.com anything and everything for your needs. The price is right on three packs.

If I don’t use the taste/smell fridge filters , the cubes taste like a swimming pool :D It also makes my martinis wierd tasting
