UPDATE: Got My 2014 Tri Glide Delievered

I know firsthand how difficult it can be paying the big money and buying one

of these sight unseen, but thankfully it worked out well for me!

Cosmetically it is far above average the only thing other than the usual few chips on

the fenders was a rear speaker grille that needed replaced (torn) harley makes these

cheaply (on purpose I think) all it takes is one elbow in there and it's torn, got a new one coming.

Other than that, she looks pretty good.

Oil was filthy and up to full mark, I changed out and now 3/4 or so.

Trans was filthy black, changed and put fresh Mobil 1 75W90 she seems to shift fine

No coolant in reserve tank, added topped off to cold mark.

Parking brake fine, I wont use it anyway

Tires were 39 front, 38 PSI IN REAR!, I went with 36 front 26 rear as Harley recommends

NO AIR IN REAR SHOCKS seems like PO didnt know where (or if) to put in air I filled to 35 PSI

(two riders)

Cleaned it up, took it out rides perfectly motor is great!

He had the idle mgt system disabled, I enabled it motor needs every bit to run as cool as possible

Need to get used to taking off with EIMS enabled but not that big of deal

I got lucky, what do you think?

Congrats on the new ride.

You didn't mention the differential. It gets a lot dirtier than the tranny, due to clutch wear.

Also, another neglected item is the brake fluid. HD has had many problems the last few years with brakes.

Enjoy it.

Carl Said here: There are grease fittings ( zurks ) But HD Service says not to add grease. MOSOCKO3 is right. do nothing it the Diff is greased for life. Whos life I dont know. But leave well enough alone.

I didn't see anything under there either. I am going to change brake fluid soon, but for now

seems fine. Front pads 50% rear has new pads

You may want to try 22 Lbs. in rear tires improved ride no effect on handling I have been running them at that for years no issues. Trike looks like a very nice ride Congratulations. May consider adding Love Jug Mighty mite fans really help manage heat and keep it to civil levels at low speed travel. Ride safe Fred

Looking pretty good, I know from your other post it had the HD fender protectors, how was the fenders when you took off the bras.

All for now Trampas

Trampas; Took the bras off, PO has 8" vinyl stickies protecting the lower parts of fenders

there is something under the right side fender stickie down low, I dont even WANT to know what it is.

Looks fine with the black protectors will help with lower fender protection.

Good news is there were NO scratches anywhere on the fenders, couple small chips that have had touch up but really minor, for what I got this nice Tri Glide for I really can't complain.

Fred; Will take a 200+ mile ride today then access/ask wife about the ride, I was thinking abt lowering pressure to 24 anyway, may try that first.

My only complaint on these up to and including the 2019s is for costing this much, one would

have thought they'd include Sirius XM as standard equipment. No, you have to buy the $350 module and have it installed (unless you buy a CVO) Anyone buying a new TG and wanting to listen to Sirius XM

be aware of this and make the dealer throw that module in as part of the deal or you'll be paying them later for the module.

I kind of like that Black covering on the lower fender. That's where most of the nick's are. Wonder where can I get those cover's. Anybody know?

I think what MDO meant when he said differential, was to change the "Primary" fluid. I didn't see where you said you changed it.

Gotcha...I did check and it's fine, just debating on what to put in there. I'm debating 10W40 or 20W50 Mobil 1 for now, some say 10W40 makes for a smoother clutch?

Alan. If you look at the front of the rear fender's of tbird's trike, it looks like either a black film or some kind of paint or coating, that's what I was referring to. Looks better the HD brand. I've seen the HD brand. It would do the trick. But I don't care for HD's rendition of the covers. Thanks Jerry

Jerry; I'm with you on the HD covers...the smaller ones won't quite cover

the fenders, and the larger wrap around ones look pretty funky in that picture, don't they?

I would advise calling a body shop, it's just black vinyl tape about 8" wide I guess you would just cut to length, they look pretty good on mine. If I find any I will let you know.

I'm REALLY likin this trike setup, rode today, wife's happy said no wallowing like on the Gold Wing

she tracks beautifully, and the BEST thing down here in FL we have somewhat windy conditions at times...rode in a 20 MPH wind yesterday, didn't even faze it. Tri Glide is def the way to go!

Thanks Tom. I think they look good. (Black Film) The fact that they cover the most chip possible area's of the fender. I'll try on E-bay also. I've rode my 2017 Trike across South Dakota 80 mile per hour. Side winds never affected the ride at all. Heading out to Sturgis again this year. I will be my 20th year. Can't wait till August.
