Favorite Vacation Destination

Nothing like 'home for the holidays' for me.

My wife is talking about going to New York for her 50th birthday (December of 2019). Her birthday is a couple of weeks before Christmas, so we'll still be home on the 24th and 25th.

Why not shoot for Maggie Valley in 2018? Take both trikes. I think I'll try to talk my wife into it.

I've actually thought about that. We'd have to split the trip up into two days, because I know the ladies wouldn't be able to ride straight through, especially Raeden. But it's something to shoot for. Not sure if I have those dates off, but I would like us to go down to the Smokies on the bikes, and maybe ride the Dragon.

And I've somehow managed to mis-read the title to the thread. I thought it said 'Holiday Destinations'. I'm a total moron.

The wife and I always enjoyed Biketoberfest, but for some reason this year was a letdown don't know if it was the rainy weather or the big crowds or just our age.But next year we will be looking at other areas.

50 ... I remember it well, because I was still young and could still recollect ... THEN !:Joker3:

Any where we can ride too.

We have attended several Trike Talk Gratherings in the last 3 years and have had a great time meeting new people that we would not have met if we had traveled by car.

Maggie Valley NC and Kerrville TX last year. This year we want to add Eureka Springs.

Ride Safe

Totally agree. Sometimes I’ll flip a coin at the next hwy to decide which way to go. When it’s time to go home, I’ll hit home on gps.

Not sure I can choose just one.

Some of the best riding is in the Ozarks, but I live there so that doesn't qualify as a vacation destination.

We really like the Smokies, have been to a few TT gatereings and will be going again. It was too bad it was so wet this last year and we had to leave early. Had a great ride on the Rattler, and want to go back to that great little restaurant in Hot Springs, NC. I believe it was called the Smoky Mountain Diner.

I love the U.P. of Michigan (used to live there) - Brockway Mountain Drive, Tahquamenon Falls near Paradise, Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains, etc.

One of my vacation dream rides would be to begin in Copper Harbor, Mi at the top of the Keweenaw Peninsula and follow US 41 south to Miami Florida, then on US 1 down to Key West.

And then there's...well, the list goes on and on.:)

I've pondered this thread long enough. Still can't decided so I'm just going to toss four out there as equals.

In no particular order: For pure riding pleasure: The Three Sisters any time of year, The Ozarks and Smoky Mountains in early or late summer, The Black Hills June and July, and lastly the Most Beautiful would be Vermont and New Hampshire in the fall.

Its ok to have more than one favorite vacation destination 👍🏼

They all are great trike trips. I will agree Vermont and New Hampshire are beautiful.

You have great scenery all around you. It’s funny that we all wanna see something different. Probably riders in the Keys that would love to take a vacation to the Rockies.

I think that is where I'd most like to try a ride.... lived on the Keeweenaw twice, while in the Coast Guard....first time at the station by the park, the second time in Laurium. The ride to Copper Harbor would be fantastic as would brockway mtn! When I first started reading this thread, I thought "I'm done with destination vacations", but you reminded me of a place that I'd love to visit and ride!

My favorite: Stay overnight in Ft. Collins, Co., then one day trike trip to Laramie, west to Centennial, Wyo., south to Walden, Co., big left to Grand Lake, Co., over the top of Rocky Mountain National Park, down to Estes Park, then to Ft. Collins.

If you do the Harley ABC points thing, there are a lot of hard to get points along the way (National Forests, Park, cities, and on ---), plus it's one scenic trip.

RMNP Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my Favorite Destinations

I personally like Destination Vacations. But l don’t wanna be committed to a certain date or route. I like the adventure. Of course some people say adventure is a romantic word for trouble.

Been to the Dragon, Cherahola, BRP and Smokies twice on 2 wheels. Loved that whole area, hope to do it again on the Tri.

Liked the Black Hills a lot when we did it a year ago (after the rally).

Planning on Chief Joseph, Beartooth & Yellowstone next summer (can't wait).

Closer to home, I like the Mississippi river valley in western WI (both sides of the river. Born & raised in ne Iowa and still like to ride that area.
