Mud Flaps

My last trip I stayed a night at an old friends house. He lives about 1 mile off the pavement and we got heavy rain that evening. So getting back on pavemet, towing a fully stocked Roll a Home was an adventure. Front end wash out where power to rear wheels was the only option. Lots of red clay dirt everywhere. All over trike, on top of trailer. I stopped at a car wash and sprayed it all down good. But wondering what others have done for mud flaps. I'm thinking of getting another license plate holder for the right side to give something at each fender to attach some sort of mud flap.

consider the frequency of need. If only once in a blue moon car wash is more convenient, cheaper and prolly needed anyway.

That's very true I'm not in the mud very often; however, just going through water or riding while it's raining generates quite a rooster tail.

HDBOG's photo looks like a good way to balance the look, and get a bit of mud flap protection.

On another note, I use a fish scale to make sure the tongue of my trailer is no more than 40 lbs. I pack the trailer so that the tongue weight comes in somewhere between 25-40 lbs.

Doing this not only helps in handling, but will also keep as much weight on the front wheel as possible.

If you don't have a Lift Kit, that will also help handling and put more weight on the front wheel.

That said, it is the nature of our Trikes that the front wheel can wash out easily in mud and ice.
