Riding along today I glance down & no gauges working, cruise or reverse. Had LCD screen, turn signals. Got home and discovered no fog lights or rear tail lights either. Checked fuses the tail looked good but had a tiny dark spec. Replaced it and now all works. Seems too simple? Any other input. I'm 600 miles from home right now

rhino, I know where you're coming from but sometimes that little ? just won't go away. At least for a while until you're confidence builds back up.

When your right' your right ....I probably should have added , Just carry extra fuses with you...

Yep, too simple just changing fuse. Lasted 14 miles. Turn signals work but don't cancel off. Let the diagnosis begin

Fuse blowing was from single brown wire running along left hinge of top trunk. Of course I checked fog lights, ring of fire wires, looked under seat, in left front pocket, ect. Then double checked clump of wires ran on RH side of top trunk, that's when I noticed the single wire along the left hinge. Pinched pretty good. Anyway several hours of my time (which is all free)it's fixed

Honda Goldwing recall

Several years ago Honda had a recall on GL 1800 for this problem. Unsure of what the fix was but like most Honda recalls they post a bulletin and leave it up to the customer to bring your bike in unless you're lucky enough to have bought a bike from dealer who will give you a call. Being a owner of a third-party purchase means I have to stay on top of these recalls and bring my bike in myself.
