Freewheeler Stereo and Handlebar Controls Install

Howdy!

I have my aftermarket fairing mounted, and speakers installed. The in-dash stereo and a double din splash-cover/mount arrive tomorrow.

Initially, I am fine with no handlebar controls, but would like to consider them in the future. I figure on upgrading my handle bar switches to the lighted HD switches, and will get the handle bar stereo switch packs at that time. I assume I need some additional wiring harnesses as part of the switch upgrades to get the stereo functions to the head unit.

Has anyone attempted this on a Freewheeler or similar "non HD" stereo switches application? Any advice/recommendations?

Thanx for the replies... Sorry so long to respond... I just now got the stereo installed and the fairing back on the bike.

I keep my trike in a trailer, and it is all locked down for the night. Will post pics tomorrow evening.

Ok... a little more information...

I installed a Panlelo 7" Android 5.1 Double Din Unit, model PA-09.

It has a key1 wire, and a key2 wire. Looking through the manual, these are related to the wired remote functions. Anyone have experience connecting a remote to these wired connections?

If all wired remote functions fail, I think I could/would use a bluetooth remote for android. Does anyone have any experience connecting a bluetooth to an android car stereo?

Thanx in advance for any replies!
