Thanks, The part with the copper wire brought back memories of my street mechanic days..50's 60's...
When we would strip a bolt back then' thats how we would fix it.. Now i use' Lock-Tight 268 stick... But with the 268, its permanent...So much so that if you have to remove it' You might have a problem..

I can see that this fellow never had a steering wheel come loose while driving.
It is almost as bad as breaking a handlebar while going around a corner.:drama:

Kind of temporarily reducing the size of the hole. Not a bad idea, but wouldn't want to put much torque on it as suggested above.

Old school for sure, we would use a battery, hack saw blade and jumper cables like a welder to etch the metal, or knurl it with a punch and lots of loctite
