Cable chains

Anyone run cable chains to get around in case of snow or ice ? Or does everyone simply stay home. :D

I don't stay home, I ride in snow if under 3 inches unplowed , If more than that i wait till the plows clear a path for me.. And no way would i ever use chains of any kind, If one should come lose you will be replacing expensive parts.. Two things about riding in snow Stay off the front brake... And watch out for all the Nimrods testing out their 4x4's SUV's......:gah:Other wise have fun in the winter wonderland...ThumbUp

My wifes car was a Mustang useless in the snow. Anyway put a piece of tape on door jamb. Told her to back up until the end of chains lined up. She could put them on herself. She would just put them on whenever it got bad. Car went great. I told her I didn't care if they beat the fenders off the car as long as she got home ok. But they never came off in use. They worked great for us. They're light weight and easy to handle.

Sorry thought you meant car.

Nope won't drive in snow don't want anybody out of control running in to me.

Where I am in N Central TX south of Dallas we do not get it very often. Sadly, more often than not, ice. :gah: Being semi retired, I do not need to go into work. I'm more concerned about riding the 3 miles into our little country town to the grocery should I need to.

Yeah, ice more than snow here near Austin as well...we don't like venturing out since people can't handle heavy rain much less ice and snow without wrecking their car and someone else's too! Hope y'a got a beater to get around in Mikey so you won't have to take those nice toy's out to play in the snow :AGGHH:
