HD extended warranty not valid on cover conversation?

Was about to pull the trigger and have my 2015 RG Uktra converted with a Lehman kit. But I was disturbed to find out from HD extended warranty folks that a conversation will void the entire warranty. The darn thing doesn't kick in until December. Can anyone confirm this and/dealt with this? If this is the case I hate to loss the money and especially go bare. Knowing what others have done in this situation will help. Thx.

I can confirm my dad warranty claim was denied because his had the DFT conversion ..They claim that's what caused the cylinder head to go bad..:xzqxz:

That's the reason I got a Tri. Was going to do Motor Trike conversion, but because of warrant issue I didn't. Checked with 3 different dealers & all said the same.

Same here. I have owned Goldwings for yrs. In 2012 was going too buy a new one and aftermarket trike it. My Honda dealer whom I have brought 4 from flat out told me it would void Honda warranty. Needing to go to three wheels to continue riding I ate two crows.
First crow was for switching to a trike and the second crow was buying a Harley. Have too admit both of those crows have long since digested and buying the new 2013 Harley Tr-Glide was a great decision. Couldn't be more satisfied these past almost 4 yrs. My extended HD warranty even though it hasn't been needed, knock on wood, was a no brainer.

Any modification not manufacture approved may void warranty if failure can be blamed on said modification.
So I was told and have read.
Strange that manufacturers allow some of their dealers to do trike conversions!

Even stranger that Rossmeyer HD here in Daytona sells both the TG and the Roadsmith conversion. I had a salesman there actually push the Roadsmith more than the TG, stating that it "is a better bike". Of course, the extra $10-15K price tag has nothing to do with it; can you say commission?

As far as the warranty, I asked about that and was told "we take care of it", which tells me that if I am anywhere else and have a problem I am on my own. No thank you!

If the Harley rep doesn't come out to check on the bike at times they maybe able to push the warranty thru. But if the Harley rep comes out..Thats it..

Problem is, your installing dealer may cover your warranty, but in my case, I do long rides every yr. (5000 mile avg.) so if I have a breakdown I am at a dealer far away from home ,then he flags the bike & no more warranty. Also, you have to hope if a conversion part fails, there is a dealer for that make is nearby & has parts for the conversion.

Yeah, and hopefully the Harley dealer will have the parts. We all know they always stock the parts needed. ;)
If your trike does break down, the odds of the problem being a trike-only part are probably very slim.
