When on two wheels I always ride with boots. However because of having difficulty with the shifter I've changed boots out for my regular loafers. I'm able to shift much easier and braking works fine also. Anyone else riding without boots?

I know everyone tells you to wear protective clothing. I'm sure if I were still on two wheels I would be wearing more protection but especially since I've been in the Stallion I don't. I'm also sure if I had ever been in a wreck I might say something different. I'll say the bottom line is you should wear what makes you feel safer.

Wear boots some times, some times I don't. Ride both two wheel and three. I overheat very easily and don't mess around with it anymore. I'm sure some will jump in and flame us but I say do what ever makes you happy.

i always wore boots when i rode dirt bikes. iv'e never worn boots when riding bikes on the street. sneakers is the only thing i'll wear

Boots. On the trikes, on the 2 wheelers, in the car and generally when I am out of the house. I have 2 pair of service boots. one for work and one for pretty much everywhere else. Most comfy footwear I have found recently. In the house I usually wear a pair of Crocs, also comfy and easy to slip on and off. And they seem to last forever. I have a pair of tennie runners, think I have had them on 3 times in the last 2 years. So it is boots when riding, I guess I am inadvertantly being safe.

Boots pretty much everywhere, all the time... Have a pair of Rockport boat shoes for around the house as "slippers" is about the only other footwear I wear.

I'm a boot wearer myself, but guilty on occasion with the trike of wearing strapped sandals. I guess it is a mood thing or convenience of the moment, but guilty just the same. I suppose it is part of the good and bad of having choices, like helmets, leathers, and any other protective gear. Only by the grace of miracle will be escape the worst of accidents. I don't always wear them either.

Boots most of the time. Sidi Riding Shoes on hot days or when our destination requires lots of walking. They are expensive but very comfortable. Can walk in them all day.

I only wear boots if I'm on the way to work, because they are part of the uniform. If I'm out during the day, I'm probably wearing my Birkenstocks.

Sperry top siders.........Haven't worn boots in years. Only need them when it is real cold, and I try to get somewhere warm in cold weather so I don't ever need them.

Never wear boots .....

I wear New Balance Gortex Tennis shoes..... if we go on a long trip we will re-treat them with Waterproofing and with heavy Treated socks I never have sweaty stinky feet and they are always dry..... I own a pair of Touring boots by BMW but never wear them.....

I received a pair of Redwing Irish setters(lace up boots) from my son in May and I love them, very comfortable to ride in and also comfortable to walk in after the ride.

Boots

As a female, I have always worn boots riding two wheels and wore boots riding the Tri Glide. Now on the Goldwing I cannot wear my boots due to I cannot get my toes under the valve cover for the shifter and brake pedal with the floorboards. I have worn Ariat western boots that lace up for a long time, but even those are too thick to get under that valve cover. I would love to find a gortex boot that has not so thick of a toe box as in tennis shoes for the summer heat and the heat I feel at my ankles on my GW.

Have you ever tried on some men's boots to see what size might suit you? Reason I ask, my wife did and found some western boots she loves just for riding and they have a smaller toe area, still comfortable.

Google "Justin 3040" ..... there are others but these boots are great!

Also, you said floor boards prevent you getting under the heads to shift .... maybe start a new thread asking for solutions and be sure to post a picture of each side shifter / brake / floorboard / head area. Many on here have faced issues .....came up with solutions.
