I don't recall ever seeing one. Anyone using one on a GW? Sounds like good storage for a quick grab, but maybe some downsides to this program, like moving the thing when refueling, or scrubbing the paintwork. Comments welcomed.

I thought about that, too. I couldn't find one that would work on our '04. There isn't much room between the seat horn and the radio controls, there is the problem you mentioned about a tank bag covering up the fuel door. The ones with suction cups have never held securely for me, long enough straps to hold it in place will rub on the tupperware, and the magnetic ones are great on my Bonneville, but magnets aren't attracted to plastic. I just rely on the fairing pockets and the little cabbies under the rear speaker. If I really need things that handy I guess a pair of cargo pants will substitute for the tank bag.

I got to thinking about it, there are pouches and bags that go over the fairing pocket doors, fuel door, against or on the dash, etc. Here is a link with a lot of the add-a-pockets on the Wingstuff site.

(Note- I did not see that any of our site sponsors offer a line of products like this. I have never bought anything from Wingstuff, this is not an endorsement. Wingstuff is the first site I found with a full line of fairing pouches/bag for the GL1800)

I have one that I have used on my '85 GL1200A .... but that bike has nothing there except the fuel filler. The bag has a strap that goes under the upper door so it stayed in place when I raised that door to access that upper comp if needed ... but the gas door cleared it OK.

It would work on the 1500 if I placed the radio cover in place and figured out someway to run straps .... but I'm not gonna do that.

I have a tank bag that I bought at the leather shop at the Daytona flea market for a previous bike and loved it. For now it is stuck on the side of the fridge in the garage. Doesn't stick to the Stallion !! They come in various sizes and only cost about $20 back when I bought it.
