Sunday Morning Mexican Breakfast Buffet

Took a little ride through: Soledad Canyon, Vasquez Canyon, and a whole bunch of other Canyons to 45ers Bar and Grill in Acton. Mexican breakfast buffet on the patio. About 40 miles through the canyons. Hell of a breakfast, hell of a ride, hell of a day.

I can't believe how lucky I am to have a wife of 43 years that likes to ride as much as I do. Slide 3 shows the Halfway House Café. You may have seen it in GEICO, Dodge, and other commercials. Been around for a lot of years, best pancakes in the Santa Clarita Valley

The whole morning condensed into about 3 minutes. Hope you like Surf Music, that is what I had blasting in my ears while riding

OLD surf album the song was Bulldogg by the Fireballs. Being a died in the wool west coaster, surfing was my passion way back when (early 60s)

It was fun to have someone close to home always ready to ride. I often rode with my next door neighbor and sometimes we would meet up with friends but it was so nice to have someone to ride from home and back home with. He was always ready to go and loved riding too so we had a lot of spur of the moment rides.

He passed away in December but I do have a lot of fond memories and I know he is in heaven riding the back roads.

Didn't surf the South Bay much, usually Oxnard or Ventura area. Watched a couple guys shoot the pier, never had the balls to try it. Anything over 6 or 7 feet I'd usually head for the shore. Ventura was a shallow break and a wipeout really hurt. Damn I wish I were young again
