Rocker Arms

My buddy recently bought a trike that seemed to run pretty well. He decided to get a larger CC engine as he had no idea about reliability of original & didn't want to be stuck somewhere with a failed engine.

Engine was supposedly 1900 with Engle W-120 cam. Had a Weber Progressive & didn't run too well with it.

I changed carbs to dual weber 40 IDF. Runs much better now it is getting fuel that is still atomized. I pulled a head & found out the bore size, checked cam lift on a pushrod with dial indicator & all parts seem to be as advertised.

There are two types of original style rockers available. (That I have seen listed, without getting into high lift rockers.) 1.1 to 1, or 1.25 to 1 ratio. So my question is how do you tell the difference between the two, to know which type you have in case you need to replace later?

Hope someone can help me on this.

First, welcome to Trike Talk Maczs!!! Glad ya found us man. :pepper:

The Engle W120 cam has a .435" lift using the stock 1.1 to 1 ratio rockers.

With the set of 1.25 to 1 rockers the lift will increase to .496" lift. If you used a dial indicator on the push rod and received the cam lift of .397" you won't be able to know for sure. You need to use your dial indicator on the top retainer of the valve to see what lift the rocker is getting. If your getting the .435" lift at the valve, then they are the 1.1 to 1 ratio stock rockers.

Does all that make sense? :p
