There is a safety Recall on all 2015 Tri-Glides build through 10/15/14. The date of the recall is: December 11,2014.

"The rear brake master cylinder on these motorcycles built through 10/15/04 may have been assembled with an incorrect piston which does not provide proper support to the primary cup/seal. This could allow a tear to develop in the primary cup. If this condition remains undetected , it could result in a reduction in brake performance, possibly resulting in a crash".

I'm having mine repaired on Thursday.

Recall Description: A defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2015 Tri Glide[SUP]®[/SUP] (FLHTCUTG) motorcycles.

Safety Risk Description: On some of these motorcycles, the rear brake master cylinder may have been assembled with an incorrect master cylinder piston. In this condition, the piston may not provide proper support to the primary cup (seal). This could allow a tear to develop in the primary cup. If this condition remains undetected it could result in a reduction in brake performance, possibly resulting in a crash.

Remedy Description: Owners of the affected motorcycles will be asked to arrange service with an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer, who will confirm that the motorcycle or part is covered by this recall. If covered, the Retailer will replace the rear brake master cylinder with the recall kit at no cost to you.

Mine is affected by the recall but it won't be going back to the dealer till April or May since it's hibernating now.

Completed today. My Dealer: Abernathy's had the parts..and the bulletin already. takes about 2 hours. Pull the back wheels and replace and bleed the brakes.

I just bought a 2015 but it still at the dealer, wont be delivered until next Monday,Should I ask if they already fixed it? do I need to worry?

It's my understanding...the dealer will not release it if there is a current recall. Put in your VIN number online and it should say... also, ask the Dealer to check...VIN number will tell them.

I asked my dealer if the recall was done and they told me there is NO recall on the Tri Glide only on the bikes with ABS and he said my T/G does not have ABS.Where can I check to see if mine is done or not?

I just checked on Harley s web site and this is what I got.
Open Recalls There are no open recalls on your vehicle

Closed Recalls There are no closed recalls on your vehicle.

So Im not sure whats up with mine

WOW.... there may not be a recall on your particular one... but they should check as there is DEFINITELY a recall..... this has nothing to do with ABS.....
first... harley-davidson.com. if you are signed up..they will have it listed in your profile by VIN number.....

and here is another Recall by VIN lookup: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/
good luck....

My dealer said they did check and no recall on mine.I did check on Harleys site and it said no closed or open recalls. So maybe mine was not effected for whatever reason. Also checked it here https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/ and it said no recalls on mine. Its like my Ford Edge there is a recall out on them but mine was not effected because of the build date and where it was built.

Thanks for the info. I just checked the web site and my TG is listed. I bought the bike in Sept. I'm going to call tomorrow and make arrangements to getting it fixed.

I would think HD is required to mail notices to owners regarding recalls just like car manufacturers do. I'm sure there are Harley owners who don't own or don't use computers. How would they become aware of a recall?

As luck would have it, my recall notice came today in the mail from HD.

I called my dealer and scheduled an appointment for next Monday. Only one repair kit left. Nice people to deal with. I still don't have my recall letter from Harley. I don't have any plans on riding any time soon here in Ohio.

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND ,,,,,,,,, REALLY !
Harley-Davidson recall
Harley-Davidson is recalling certain model year 2015 Tri-Glide FLHTCUTG motorcycles manufactured July 14, 2014, to October 15, 2014. The affected motorcycles have a rear brake master cylinder assembled with an incorrect piston. This piston may not provide the proper support and may allow a tear in the primary cup. The potential number of units affected is 1,560.
If the primary cup develops a tear it will decrease the brake performance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began December 16, 2014. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 414/343-4056. Harley-Davidson’s number for this recall is 0162.

The Canada Harley site lists it, but the U.S. site doesn't for some reason.
If your manufacture date isn't this time period you probably won't get a letter.

Received the letter on Thursday. The dealer made the repair last week as the bike is in for upgrades and storage for the winter. Excellent. ThumbUp

Got my recall Friday and will call ATL HD today and set up a time to bring it in and also have the DK lift kit put on as well...while there have the spots flashed...

Pull your seat off of your Tri Glide. There is a big sticker saying the date of manufacture. Mine was July 23 and is going in, in a couple of weeks for the recall. I also checked the serial #, phoned a HD dealer to double check. I have not received any notification in the mail, yet.
Not happy, as we are trailering our bikes down south for a few weeks vacation and the first stop, before I ride will be the stop at the HD dealer in Utah.

I am one of those that reads up on the internet all the time. If I didn't I would have never known about the recall and would have been riding it, unaware of the recall. Maybe HD should get after these recalls way quicker than they presently do. Could have been dangerous riding it.
