Anyone having problem going over speed bumps and scraping the tips of the mufflers? Or even backing up against a curb. I try to avoid them like the plague, but sometime you do not have a choice. Any ideas on how to fix this problem. Will increasing the air pressure in the air shock help lift the rear of the trike?

I put on Tglide stuff [Dennis] 1 And 1/4 inch lift and I haven't scraped a tail pipe in 3 years' ThumbUp

I don't go up or down driveways, or over speed bumps perpendicular (90*). Always go up and down or over at an angle. Many years driving a lowered Porsche taught me this. Backing into a curb or parking stop, well that is just a matter of paying attention.

Or, you can spend the bucks and raise the rear, just be careful of high speed bumps or really steep driveways.

Roxy has the tglidestuf shock lifts .... and no issues. I would not own a Harley Tri Glide without them. Bob :Dorag: Roxy at Hanuums.jpg

+1 on the lift kit from Dennis!!

+2 on the lift kit from Dennis after scraping the stock pipes the first trip after purchase of the trike. Lift Kit went on right after that trip at the same time we put the Rush Big Louie's. 17,000 miles now and never scraped the larger diameter pipes.:clapping:

Lets go with + 3 on lift kits.

Just for the record:

Speed bumps are county workers who had laid down on the job, and they just paved over them.

It must be true, I heard it on the radio this morning: Bob & Tom show:laugh:

Most County road workers will be out of a job soon, Once the county starts importing the newly invented Japanese shovel that stand's up by it's self...

V&H exhaust has the Mufflers for Triglides. Don't know if they do for GW's.
Had no need for a lift with the V&H mufflers................:Coffee:

I installed the Vance and Hines Monster Deluxe slip-ons, which are designed for the TG and the comfort lifts. This combo gives me plenty of clearance for my TG.. GW ???? 8~\o

The lifts do more than just give extra lift for the mufflers.
Because you need to lift the rear up to clear things, the lifts let you carry the Trike at the elevated height at a lower pressure in the shocks. This will give you a softer ride. Also the steering changes slightly in your favor with the lifts.

Have to agree with that. Ever since I installed the lift kit on my 2012 and now my 2014, I can go around corners a lot faster and make sharper turns. ThumbUp

And I can ride through higher snow now..............just kidding on that. :D

Besides being able to have more clearance for the mufflers, and having a bit faster steering, DK Custom Products offers two different styles of Trike Lifts.

  1. The Standard Trike Lift
  2. The Comfort Lift Kit

Here is how they are the same.

  1. They both replace the stock shock mounting brackets.
  2. They both raise the rear shocks 1.25” and the rear of the bike 1.6”

Here is how they are different.

  1. The Comfort Lift Kit changes the angle of the rear shocks rearward on the swingarm providing for a more comfortable ride by absorbing more of the smaller and larger road imperfections, resulting in less of the bumps being passed on to the rider and passenger.
