Took a good long ride today for the first time after receiving my tri-glide. Been reading thru the owners manual about the security system. While riding I noticed the red light on the speedo dash was blinking all of the time. I own a Honda car which has similar type of security system. You start the engine, the red light goes off, turn the engine off and it is armed. Is there something I am missing from the manual or is this normal ?

It sounds as if your dealer needs to finish the dealer service he got paid for. It sounds like the security system isn't activated. You are talking about the security light?
Does the security system work if you leave the fob in the house & try to start the Trike?:Trike1:

Why care about the security? NOBODY is going to steal a trike! ! ! .....even if you leave the keys in it. :D
That's one of the reasons I like my trike and don't worry about someone stealing it.....they can't lift it and they can't ride it away.

I usually don't even lock it anymore.....depending on the neighborhood - then I do lock it and put a disk lock on the front rotors.

Gary, it appears you don't live out West (I.e. California).......even TRIKES have a habit of walking away out here.......just say'n.

You have to remember the front half is a lot of good parts to strip and resell, the vast majority will fit any Touring bike, the engine will go into any 'A' engine bike.

Its a pretty simple deal to knock it into neutral and roll it away to be loaded into or onto a trailer, gone in 60 seconds or less.

Service; A lamp that remains illuminated longer than four seconds when the system is disarmed indicates that service of the module is required.

Riden2low,
Make sure there are no electronic devices (blue tooth, phones, gps) near your key fob. it interferes with the system. Mine acted up when I put my key fob and iphone in the dash bag together.
It mentions it in the manual.

Hope that's the case for you!

Cath.

Yeah, you are probably right. I called Service today and they said to bring it back in to see what the problem is. Then I noticed a little water leak. So they have to look into that.
