I was pretty amazed.
Thought i would share it with you.

Never under estimate a shaggy old man on a rat Harley...even in Holland! Be sure to watch to the end and note that old Hog is a KICK STARTER. Couldn't resist sending this to my motorcycle friends - no matter what brand you ride..

I'm still laughing... that old boy is a sleeper for sure..... :D

Yah! Saw that a couple of weeks ago and still enjoy it and I'm not a Harley fan!! I think it might have something to do with large tire vs small tire. That and gobs of bottom end torque from a big piston V Twin...

For those who are wondering, I don't hate Harleys, I just like my V4 metric cruiser better.

I have seen these crotch rockets go crazy, Its hard to believe a rat Harley could out torque one no matter how short the race. I know they did it three times but I guess.

 Lets not fool ourselves, Rat Harley's are sometimes deliberately built to look like Rats!

I have it on good authority that was a custom evo motor with about 100 h.p.

The kick start threw me off but listen for a shift? It's a close geared racing tranny. (as was later pointed out to me by the friend who sent the video to me)

The bottom end torque on a Harley is and has always been phenomenal, Thats what makes em great trikes also.

Its the reason a stock 80" evo with a v-27 cam (one step hotter) like mine pulls around my heavy trike and trailer well enough not to worry about a bigger engine.

Skill also makes a big difference. I do notice that both kept front wheels on ground. If I had any idea what a "Like" button was, I would press it for that video.

Love the video, but, gotta admit it's a bit deceiving also.. That's a CBR1000 putting at least 160 @ the wheel.. He'd have to feather the throttle all the way through first, shift easier into 2nd before he could open it up hard. With a lineup like that, the Harley will win every time, until about 1/2 way through 2nd gear.

That being said, I've had several friends get BLASTED by Harley's and get upset by it.. People simply "assume" that all harley's are slow, nothing could be further from the truth. Being a former sport bike racer, I know this better than most. The guy on the sport bike should have known before he got on his bike he didn't stand a chance in that lineup..

Props to the HD rider for showing him up!!

these are apples and oranges. I have ridden both metric and s.a.e. Both have respectable power but in different ways and at different r.p.m.s. make that race 2 or 3 blocks longer and im sure the result would change.
im just addicted to the Harley low end grunt.

I know tom, But i just wish the young pups in casper,wy. could get brought down to their right size like the jap jockey in the video?

They go through town in herds (must be COW-a sucki's?) jabbing their throttles up and down, acting just too cool with a girl sitting high on the back seat in an uncomfortable looking position, looks like two monkeys on a tennis shoe?

Last fall we had one of the high school age idiots leave a parking lot and within half a block broadsided a turning car at about 70 m.p.h., killed him and the girl. Now Thats really.....really ..........Cool Huh?

If i was that girls father i would have to strangle the idiot after he was dead hoping it would carry over to his next life?

:gah:There are old bikers and bold bikers, but their ain't no OLD BOLD bikers.
