OK fellow gun enthusiasts-What is your favorite CC pistol and why? I am also curious as to how many of you consistently carry?
I realize this subject has probably already been beaten to death-but at least not recently.
When I carry, it is either an S&W 40, or a Keltec 9mm. I like the way the S&W fits my hand, and it is the most accurate pistol I own. I have not carried consistently for many years-but in lieu of current events, and the rising rate of crime, am considering packing more often.
What do you guys think???

Can't carry in Illinois, but have Pennsyilvania and New Hampshire non resident ccw permits. My favorite is my Para- Ordanance PDA 45 or my Walther PPk in 380.

Hard to pick a favorite carry but mostly it would be the new XDs 45 in my Crossbreed Super Tuck. The XD 40 is a tad larger and it goes in the shoulder holster as well as my other Glocks, really doesn't matter. They all go in my Crossbreed well.

Wifey has a Sig P238. She can pick a lime off a bench at 25'. NO... I don't make her mad on purpose. :D:D

I carry a S&W M&P 9MM compact and the wife carries a S&W 9MM Shield.
Never know what you're gonna run into any more these days. If more sane people were armed, the crazy people would get off fewer shots!
Pray to God we never have to use them other than for target practice, but we're well trained just in case.

AMEN to that OKIE.ThumbUp I was born in OK.(Cushing)!

Good comments so far-keep them coming.poof:D

I carry FN 5.7 x 28, Taurus PT92 9mm, and Sig P238 380 as my backup. I interchange the FN and Taurus on a weekly basis. When I travel I carry my Sig 226 357sig and SIG P238 as my backup. Occasionally, will rotate the Sig 226 on a weekly basis. My favorite are all of them because they are full size with the exception of the 380. Usually duty sidearms are full size. So - I'm use to the full size. I can shoot and control the full sizes with no problem - that's why they are my favorite.

My favorite is my Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry, I carry the majority of the time. Only time I don't carry is when I have to work, the company I work for doesn't allow firearms on plant property so I have to travel without. When out working in the garage or yard I carry a Taurus Ultralite in 38 special. The rest of the time I mix it up between my Ruger LC9, LCP and the recently purchased Springfield XDs.

Thanks for all the great comments gentlemen. Part of the reason I started this thread is that I am thinking about a new CC, and was curious about what you wise old farts liked. Thinking about a 45.poof

Remington 12ga with slugs for the house and Glock 19 9mm because that was what I was trained with and also qualified with for my retired officers LEOSA certification permit. Since they changed the law I can even carry in the National Parks now. Don't recall the holster names but I either use a t-shirt with built in holster, inside pants holster or an upside down crossdraw shoulder holster. I carry when the whim strikes. As my instuctor says you don't have a department backing you now so suggest you get a good description of suspect unless its you or your family being targeted

</div>45 is fun to shoot, I'm thinking the little XDs I just picked up will be a pretty decent carry gun, my Kimber isn't bad either.

I also have a Tarus 357 snub nose, and an American Arms 32 that fits in the palm of my hand. I really don't enjoy shooting either because they are so small and innaccurate. I used to think smaller was bettter for CC-now days I lean toward larger more accurate models. What good is a gun with a barrel so short you can't hit anything?poofpoofpoof

I wouldn't discount the shorter barreled pistols, the majority of your defense situations will be up close.

True That..... especially good in a card game dispute! Seriously though.. at 25 feet you would be lucky to hit an 8 inch target. I have tried with both of those, have no problem with my longer barrels. I stand firm on tiny guns-cute to look at, but somewhat worthless IMO.:Dpoof

LC9 in a Galco in Pocket holster or a XD 9 mm 4" barrel in a Concealment Solutions holster, depending what I am doing & if I am in State or outside. Love .45 but started loading 9mm years ago & have stuck with it. The XD in 45 would be sweet.

When I seriously carry, I carry the Taurus Judge with 410 shotshells and 2 rounds of 45 colt hollow point. I also have been known to carry the Ruger p95 9mm, Rossi 357 snub, S&W lite weight 38 snub and etc. Duh Judge is my favorite, because I'd like to hit what I aim at, regardless of the situation. Not much chance of missing with a shotgun round.

Wife carries a S&W Airweight 38-P or a Taurus 380. We carry a Taurus Judge in the carand I always have my S&W 40. Double 00 buck in Judge plus one 45 for distance shot if they survive the first 4.
