Rider
I have had my trike now for a little over three months. It's been a GREAT ride so far. Both in the learning curve and just the bike itself.
I have had no issues with the Hannigan kit and all seems to be running very smoothly. Heat issues in the, sometimes, horrendous traffic here have been nominal.
Riding has been a exercise in learning a different style. The first few weeks going through sweeping turns scared the
out of me. But, with the independent suspension, that has almost become a non-issue as my confidence level has steadily improved.
Riding the Interstate, especially here, was interesting at first. I wasn't sure how to handle the "floating" aspect of a trike. But, with all the bumps and rises from various repairs to the roads, it's something that I have adjusted to and I no longer feel like I am going to fly off the road.
There were many, MANY people that sent me messages with suggestions, comments and other things that really helped in the choice of a new trike. Those people get a HUGE thanks from me.ThumbUpThumbUp
I was told, on more than one occasion, to expect people to be really interested in the trike when stopping at places. Well, initially, I took this with a grain of salt. However, I have found that, frankly, if you are NOT a friendly person then a trike might not be the best choice. There have been MANY times I have stopped at places, gas stations, Lowes, restaurants, and had people just walk up and start in with the questions. Not that I have a problem talking to them. For me, it's rather enjoyable. I made what I thought was going to be a 10 minute stop at Lowes for an item. I was there for over an hour standing in the parking lot answering tons of questions from a variety of people.
Needless to say, for the past three months I have been extremely happy and VERY satisfied with my choice. The trike, the dealer ((Coach Rice Trikes)), and the kit manufacturer ((Hannigan)). They have been more than helpful with my occasional inane questions.
The various boards have also been a great help. The responses come relatively fast whenever any question is asked. Whether by myself or others.
